Orlando Magic – Review of NBA Finals and the Future

Monday, June 15th, 2009

Magic have no reason to hang their heads. They had a tremendous run throughout the playoffs beating the defending champs in the Celtics and this year’s heavy favorites (Editor’s note: Cleveland Cavaliers) to compete for a championship this year. Lack of experience on the big stage hurt them, turnover issue and inconsistent point guard play did them in as well. Hedo Turkoglu must be signed in the off season if he decides to become a free agent this off season. Magic also need to sign a legit power forward to help Dwight Howard on the boards. As good as Howard is, he must refine his post up game and work on free throw shooting so he can really become a dominant force late in the games. I will cut him some slack, he is only 23 years old. Magic are a young team and a better team when Jameer Nelson is healthy. It will be interesting next year:  does point guard Rafer Alston want to play a back-up role for a championship contending team or a staring role on a lesser caliber team?

NBA 2009 Finals Analysis: Lakers vs. Magic

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

Before the playoffs started, I had LA vs Cavs in the Finals. LA wins the series to much 4th quarter Kobe, Pau and Home court. Right now Magic win the series against the Cavs to much offensive fire power, Dwight Howard and Rafer Alston has held their own in the point guard match up. Magic should be up 3-0 if Lebron James doesn’t make that clutch 3 in game 2. Cavs need more scoring from role players, they can’t advance or win a NBA title with a one man band featuring Lebron on all the instruments.
